Genuine OEMShips nationwideExpert support
At only 46.3 lbs, the EU2000 utilizes Honda’s "state of the art" inverter technology to provide 2000 watts of lightweight, quiet and efficient power. This generator will run up to 15 hours on a single tank of gas when used with the Eco-Throttle feature. This easy starting generator produces only 59dB of sound at 7 meters with a full load, which is less than the rating of common speech.
The Honda Inverter Technology makes this generator ideally suited for use with sensitive electronics (e.g., computer, fax, printer, and telephone, stereo) because the generator produces a clean sine wave of energy that prevents surging. To prevent any possible damage to the unit, the Oil Alert will shut the unit off when the oil drops below a safe operating level.
The unit also has a DC terminal for use when charging 12-volt automotive type batteries. The available power is commonly used for the following typical electric devices:
Size Micro Wave Ovens - Larger Power Tools i.e. circular saw -
Resistive Load Kitchen Appliances (i.e. Coffee Maker, Toaster, small a/c units etc).
Two like EU series generators can be linked in parallel to increase available wattage through the generator outlets.

General operation tips
•Always read your owner's manual before operating your generator.
While we provide general tips here, it's important that you are familiar with the operation for your specific model before getting started.
•Always run your generator outside. Close any doors and windows.
Like all products powered by gasoline engines, Honda generators produce carbon monoxide. Protect yourself and others by only running the generator outdoors and well away from the home. Keep doors and windows closed.
•Give the generator plenty of space.
Leave at least three feet of space around the top and sides of the generator. Do not enclose the generator in a box or other casing. Proper ventilation is vital to its use and your safety.
•Keep the generator dry.
Do not use the generator in wet conditions, such as rain or snow, or near a pool or sprinkler system.
•Place the generator on a firm, level surface.
•Run your generator at least once a month.
Running, or exercising, your generator regularly helps to insure it will start when you really need it. It lubricates the engine by circulating oil, runs fresh gas through the carburetor, and works to recharge the battery. This keeps the generator ready to go when the power goes out.
Fuel
•Use unleaded gasoline with a pump octane rating of 86 or higher.
Honda engines are engineered and designed to run on unleaded fuel. This will reduce deposit build up on valves, spark arrestor, muffler and spark plugs.
•Never use stale or contaminated gasoline or an oil/gas mixture.
•Avoid getting dirt or water in the fuel tank.
•Be sure to refuel when the engine is off and the generator is in a well-ventilated area.
Gasoline is extremely flammable and is explosive under certain conditions. Do not over fill, and make sure that any spilled fuel has been wiped off before starting the generator. If the engine has been running, allow it to cool before refueling.
•Store your generator in a well-ventilated area.
The fuel tank cap vents the tank. Because gasoline fumes can collect and ignite, adequate ventilation is a must. For example, don't store the generator below the deck of a boat.
To start your generator:
1.Review your owner's manual to ensure familiarity with your generator's controls and operation.
2.Move the generator outside.
3.Check the fuel level and add more fuel if necessary.
4.Check the oil level and add oil if necessary.
5.Check the air filter and clean if necessary.
6.Turn the circuit breaker off.
7.Turn the fuel valve on.
8.Start the generator.
9.Allow the generator the warm up for a few moments before turning the circuit breaker on.
10.Connect the appliances or the transfer switch if applicable.
To stop your generator:
1.Turn the circuit breaker off.
2.Turn the engine switch off.
3.Turn the fuel valve off.
Transporting and storing your generator
•Turn the fuel valve OFF.
If left on, gasoline may get into the engine crankcase and dilute the engine oil. This reduces the lubrication properties of the oil and could cause severe engine damage.
•Allow the generator to cool for 15 minutes before transporting or storing it.
•Always store the generator upright.
•If you are going to store your generator for more then 2 months:
1.Drain the fuel from the carburetor float bowl.
2.Drain the fuel from the sediment cup.
3.Add the correct proportion of fuel conditioner to the tank and top it off.
Generator Safety
Customer safety is very important to Honda, so we want to point out hazards of improper generator operation. Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning, electrocution, and fire are hazards that can be avoided by following instructions in the owner’s manual and on the generator safety labels.
Carbon Monoxide Poisoning
A generator’s exhaust contains toxic carbon monoxide, which you cannot see or smell. Breathing carbon monoxide can KILL YOU IN MINUTES. To avoid carbon monoxide poisoning, follow these instructions when operating a generator:
1.Only run a generator OUTSIDE, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
2.Never operate a generator inside a house, garage, basement, crawl space, or any enclosed or partially enclosed space.
3.Never operate a generator near open doors or windows.
4.Get fresh air and seek medical attention immediately if you suspect you have inhaled carbon monoxide.
Early symptoms of carbon monoxide exposure include headache, fatigue, shortness of breath, nausea, and dizziness. Continued exposure to carbon monoxide can cause loss of muscular coordination, loss of consciousness, and then death.
Electrocution
A generator produces enough electrical power to cause serious shock or electrocution if misused.
Using a generator in wet conditions such as in rain or snow, near a pool or sprinkler, or with wet hands could result in electrocution. Keep the generator dry.
Connecting a generator to a building improperly could allow electrical current to feed back into utility lines, creating an electrocution hazard for utility workers. Connections to a building must isolate generator power from utility lines and comply with all local laws and electrical codes.
Fire
Parts of a generator become very hot during operation and remain hot for a while after stopping the engine. Be careful not to touch the muffler while it is hot. Let the engine cool before storing the generator indoors.
Keep flammable materials away from the generator when it is running.
Keep the generator at least three feet (one meter) away from buildings when the engine is running. The generator needs at least three feet of clearance on the top and all four sides for cooling.
Gasoline is extremely flammable and gasoline vapors can explode. Do not refuel while the engine is hot or running, and do not overfill the fuel tank. Refuel only outdoors in a well ventilated area. Never smoke near gasoline, and keep flames and sparks away. Store fuel in an approved container.
Additional Information
Please follow the instructions in the owner’s manual and on the generator safety labels.
