Power Blanket BH55-130 55 Gallon Barrel Heating, 130 degree

Operating Information

Roll and Fold Up

The powerblanket® can be rolled or folded, which ever you prefer. We recommend 2 people to roll or fold the 23’x11’. They weigh 70 lbs. The better you take care of them the longer they will last.

Do not Plug in While Rolled or Folded

The powerblanket® do not need to be pre-heated. When you receive your powerblanket®, you must unroll before you plug them in. If the powerblanket® is too long or wide for the area you’re working in, you can fold the powerblanket® over, topside to topside. Folding the powerblanket® bottom side to bottom side can damage the powerblanket®.

Top and Bottom

Powerblanket® are made with a very durable water proof vinyl. They’re clearly marked “TOP”. Heat come for the bottom side ONLY. Bottom side down or bottom side up- use them accordingly to fit your application.

Overlapping With Flap

Powerblanket® are constructed with a 6in. insulation flap. Use this 6in. flap for overlapping, holding down, and securing the blanket. The better the powerblanket® is secured the better it will work.

Info Sheet and Uses List

The powerblanket® info sheet is your brochure and can be obtained through powerblanket®. It shows how many of each type of blanket that can be plugged together. All powerblanket® are figured for 110volt, 20 amp. Plug. The info sheet tells the basic function of each blanket.

The basic information contains the 3 temps. To choose from: the curing blanket- works great for cuing and maintaining optimum concrete curing temperatures on freshly poured concrete. It also works to prevent ground from freezing. The Curing Blanket will not thaw ground or heat up a cold surface. The Super-Duty works great for almost everything- curing concrete, thawing ground, melting snow and ice, wrapping columns, pre-heating ground, rebar, and decking before a pour. Use upside down on driveways, walkways, roofs, decks, ect… to prevent snow and ice accumulation. Curing and Super-Duty retain moisture during the curing process, acting as a “wet cure”, reduce cracks and defects. There is nothing that will perform better than the Extra-Hot powerblanket® at Minus 40 degreesF .The Extra-Hot powerblanket® thaw ground melt snow and ice, heat up concrete floors in freezers for overlay work, heat propane and hydraulic tanks, used as radiant heated floors. These blankets are HOT!

Additional Covering

It is not necessary to cover the powerblanket® with an insulated tarp. It may increase performance by protecting the powerblanket® from the extreme cold. Never put a layer between the botton of the powerblanket® and a surface. This will act as a bairier and the powerblanket® will not work as designed.

Hanging Blankets

The 6’x25’ powerblanket® are constructed for al lof your hanging and wrapping applications. Block walls, brick walls, foundations, columns, beams, ect… The powerblanket® are insulated and will keep the heat out, the same as they kepp the heat in. This feature is what makes powerblanket®s great for year round curing. Use the Super-Duty for wrapping columns that have not been stripped yet.

Barrel Blankets

powerblanket® barrel and bucket heaters are a step above the competition in safety, performance, and safety. The powerblanket® wraps around the entire outer surface creating a fast , even, consistent heating. This eliminates the need to adjust heaters and stir materials. The built in thermostat maintains desired temps, between 50 degrees- 180 degreesF. Leave plugged in year round and eliminate any worries of under or over heating your material. You can plug together up to 5 barrel powerblanket® and 20 5 gallon bucket powerblanket® on 1 20 amp plug. The 2’x2’ can be used on top or bottom to bring material to temperature ever faster. powerblanket® tote heaters are costume made per customers request. See the pricing sheet for more information on these products.

The mason barrel powerblanket® gives the masons 3 x’s the amount of hot water using only 1 extension cord without risk of burning anything up. The mason barrel powerblanket® heats the water fast and can be left plugged in all winter long. The Masons also love the 10’x 10’ to heat up their sand piles and equipment. Putting the 10’x10’ on top of the sand piles works better than placing it underneath the sand pile.

Ground Thawing

The rate at which ground thaws depends on type of soil and moisture content. Moisture in the soil is very important in the thawing process. When the ground begins the thaw the moisture is heated evenly with the powerblanket® creating latent heat, which speed up the thawing Process. Different types of soil thaw at different rates. A hard compacted clay with lots of silt in it will thaw at a much slower pace than a rocky, sandy, loose type soil. It is not uncommon for the ground to thaw faster on the second day. powerblanket® super-duty blankets are not radiant heaters. The tighter they are against the ground, the faster they will thaw. The fastest results remove snow from the area you are thawing. The powerblanket®s have such even heat that once the ground is thawed the dirt will dry out making digging cleaner and easier. Compacted snow melts faster than light fluffy snow. This picture shows 5ft. of snow melted in 3 days at minus 10 degreesF with a 6’x12’ Extra-Hot powerblanket®.

Temperature of powerblankets

You will not always feel heat under the powerblanket®. 50 degree-70 degreeF will thaw ground, snow and ice fast but is undetectable by the human hand. There are too many variables to determine an exact temp of all powerblanket®s. For an exact temp. place temp gauge under powerblanket®. Please call powerblanket® to get specific temps for specific applications.

Colored Concrete

Cut the 6’ flap off of the 6’x25’ powerblanket®, overlap 1in. and plu in. powerblanket® retain the moisture in curing concrete, eliminating the water inbetween the blanket and concrete. This reduces the amount of efloresence that is created by covering freashly poured concrete. The reason for cutting off the 6’ flap is the flap is not heated.

500 PSI

When temps dip below freezing, concrete is covered for 7 days to obtain a compressive strength of 500 PSI. Meaning it probably wont freeze. Curing concrete this way is unpredictable and can be costly. There is no waiting around when curing concrete with the powerblanket®. Excelaraate your schedule and keep your conrete out of freezing danger . Compressive strength of up to 4200 PSI in 9 hours with no cracking or defects using only the powerblanket®.
