At POWER-GEN International 2005, Ingersoll Rand introduced the first six models in the PowerSource mobile generator line, the G10 to G125 models, ranging from 10 to 125 kVA. The launch of the G185 – G570 models completes the PowerSource line. In addition, the G90 and G145 will launch simultaneously as EPA Tier 3 emissions-certified replacements for the G80 and G125 models launched in 2005. All PowerSource models have controls and connection points grouped at the rear of the unit in an ergonomically designed power pedestal to maximize operator convenience and safety. Operators will prefer the large terminal board, which makes cable connection an easy task. The controls have been designed for at-a-glance monitoring with easy-to-read analog gauges and LED indicator lamps. An easy-to-use engine controller, featuring remote automatic start/stop capability, has been incorporated on all three-phase models. The control panel layout is common across the PowerSource range, reducing complexity and simplifying operator training. PowerSource generators have multi-voltage capabilities and the G25 – G185 models feature voltage selector switch protection, an innovative solution to reduce downtime and potential damage to the generator. If the voltage selector switch is accessed during operation, the generator will immediately shutdown to prevent switching under load. Voltage change on the PowerSource G240 – G570 models is accomplished via a simple buss bar reconnection procedure. High quality alternators with AREP (Auxiliary Regulation Excitation Principle) technology provide PowerSource generators with best-in-class motor-starting capacity. AREP provides excellent voltage regulation and makes PowerSource generators ideal for powering applications such as compressors, pumps and other loads with high startup demands.
