Rex is our AI equipment assistant. Because the wrong advice on equipment can be dangerous — whether it's a generator, an aerial lift, a compactor, a pump, an attachment, or a saw — we've built several safety checks into how it works. They're designed to reduce the chance Rex recommends using a machine, part, or pairing in a way it isn't rated for. Here's how those checks work, and — just as important — where Rex's limits are.
Safety rules built in
Rex is instructed not to recommend running equipment outside its rating — exceeding a lift's weight or height capacity, overloading a generator, pairing an attachment with a machine it doesn't fit, quoting a part or size that doesn't exist for a unit, or bypassing a guard or safety device. Before recommending anything with a fitment or capacity dimension, it's prompted to ask the questions a good counter rep would: what machine, what job, what load, what conditions.
An extra safety review on answers
Before a reply reaches you, a separate review step checks Rex's draft against our catalog and manual data for advice that could be physically dangerous — a capacity or load rating being exceeded, an incompatible pairing, electrical or fuel misuse, or a spec the data doesn't back. When it flags something, that answer is held back, and Rex either corrects it or routes you to our team. It's an added safeguard, not a guarantee it catches everything.
When it's unsure, it hands off
When Rex can't confidently answer a safety-related question from the product data, it's designed to take your contact info and connect you with our sales team rather than guess.
Tested — and always being improved
We deliberately try to push Rex into unsafe recommendations and tighten it when we find gaps. In our testing it has refused those requests and pointed customers toward setups rated for the job. We keep testing — because no AI is perfect.
